Managing Director

Mr Didier Tresarrieu

A graduate with a Masters Degree in Law from the University of Paris Pantheon-Sorbonne, Didier Tresarrieu has also been honoured as a Knight of National Merit (France) and is an Advisor to the French Foreign Trade Council. Didier took over the management of UniCem as Chief Executive Officer in September 2009 after serving as the senior vice president of the UniCem project with the Board of Shareholders. He has 20 years experience within the Lafarge group, most recently as the CEO of the Lafarge Aso Cement joint venture in Japan from 2005-2009, and before that as CEO of Lafarge East Africa (2000-2005).

Deputy Managing Director

Mr Olivier Lenoir

Olivier Lenoir, a French national took up his position as Deputy Managing Director in January 2010. Born in 1956, Olivier graduated from the Paris business school École Superieure de Commerce de Paris. He has 25 years experience in cement and other Lafarge businesses in finance positions at headquarters and as Chief Financial Officer in large business units including foreign assignments in Morocco and Spain.

Operations Director

Mr Leo Cotti

Leo joined UniCem in August 2009 with significant experience and technical expertise in plant management, stemming from assignments in six different countries, most recently as the Plant manager of the Shurovsky cement plant, of the Holcim Group company in Russia, (clinker cap of 1,15mtpa; 100 kilotons as white clinker). Born in 1957, Leo studied at the Institute of Technology, Chur, Switzerland where he obtained his first degree and graduated as a Chemical Engineer in 1981. As the culmination of his post graduate study in Economics at the Institute of Technology (Juventus), Zurich, Switzerland, Leo obtained his second degree as an Economics Engineer in 1991.

Human Resource Director

Mr Olusegun Basorun

Born in 1960, Olusegun graduated with a B.Sc in Political Science and History from the University of IFE, followed by a Masters of legal studies from the University of Lagos. He started his career within the Lagos State Government as a civil servant, after which he moved into a HR capacity as HR manager with John Holt Plc. Prior to moving over to UniCem in April 2008 as HR director, he was the deputy HR director at West African Portland Cement.

Corporate Affairs Director

Mr Ayi Ita Ayi

Born in Akpap-Okoyong, in Nigeria in 1961, Ayi Ita Ayi has remained in Cross River State, where he graduated with an MBA from the University of Calabar, after obtaining his B.Sc (Hons) from University of Ibadan. Following on from years of experience with community development programs in the local government office and management experience within the private sector within Cross River State, Ayi joined UniCem in June 2008.

Chief Financial Officer

Mr Segun Okunsanwo

Segun, a Nigerian national from Ogun state, joined UniCem in 2007. Segun has an MBA and twenty two years experience in the financial field, of which the past eleven years have been in the cement industry. Segun joined Atlas Cement in 2000 and moved to UniCem in 2007 as Head of Treasury. Until August 2010 he occupied the portfolios of Head of Planning and Financial analysis and briefly that of Acting CFO before transferring over as the ERP/Change Management Project Director between August 2010 and February 2011. In March 2011 Segun was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of UniCem.

Sales Director

Mr William Anam

William joined UniCem in March 2011 as Sales Director, and brings to UniCem extensive sales experience from the south south, south east, south western and north central regions of the country where he has held various portfolios in the Sales function. Prior to joining UniCem, William occupied the portfolio of General Manager, Seven-Up bottling Company, Apapa Sales and Marketing Operations. During his tenure with Seven-Up, as a result of the work he did in the north central regions, William was the recipient of the Pepsico Presidents Ring of Honour Award, New York in 2009.

Marketing and Technical Assistance Director

Mr Vipul Agrawal

Vipul joined UniCem in September 2010 and has 28 years of experience in the cement and construction business. He has a strong background in strategy and business development, marketing, cement technical services and applications, and construction. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a post graduate diploma (MBA) in Construction Project Management. For the past eleven years, Vipul has been with Lafarge (Bamburi Cement) in East Africa, where prior to joining UniCem he held the position as Sales Director for the East Africa region.

Procurement and Logistics Director

Mr Thierry Balloy

Thierry Balloy, a French national, took up his position as Procurement and Logistic Director in October 2010. Thierry has a master degree from the University of Lille in France. He has more than 12 years experience in cement and has spent many years in program management, process improvement in procurement and logistic within Europe, Middle East Africa (EMEA) region including foreign assignments in the Middle East, Africa region and Spain. Prior to his appointment with UniCem, Thierry was with Holcim, and had the responsibility of sourcing activities at an EMEA region level.
