Water sampling
Environmental monitoring is done internally and verified by external consultants. Water quality, air emissions and noise are monitored.
UniCem has developed in-house capability to do daily monitoring of water quality leaving the operational areas. This is verified on a quarterly basis by external consultants.
Emissions are monitored on a continual basis by the plant operating system. The Plant has been designed to operate within the guidelines as set by FMENV and the IFC. Monitoring of ambient air quality (fence line monitoring), as a means of control, is done by passive samplers. These samplers provide monthly average values of SOx, NOx, and NO2.
