Safety is an absolute priority for UniCem. The safety and well-being of our employees is our number one priority, both so far as ensuring that the relevant safety systems are in place, but also our expectation that every UniCem employee takes responsibility for Safety within the workplace. 

In achieving our Safety standards we apply the best practices from our major international shareholders, who are both leaders in this field.

To reach our target, both on zero fatal accidents and to minimize Lost Time Injuries, UniCem has:

• Given mentorship of selected areas of Safety to each of its directors to instil responsibility from the highest level and to ensure that it is cascaded down through the organization,
• Implemented procedures for reporting incidents and undertakes regular audits in line with shareholder standards,
• Regularly conducts training to employees and contractors to instil best Safety practices.
