Manchester United prepare 70m euro bid for Kounde

Manchester City bid 55 million euros for Jules Kounde last summer, which was rejected by Sevilla, and now their city rivals Manchester United are reportedly preparing a bid of 70m euros for the young French defender.
Kounde has impressed since arriving at Sevilla from Bordeaux in the summer of 2019.

According to The Mirror, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge admirer of Kounde and has made his signing a priority in the summer window, seeing him as the ideal partner to Harry Maguire in central defence.

His release clause sits at 90m euros and Bordeaux are set to receive a percentage of any sale.

Manchester City's interest
Sevilla sporting director Monchi spoke after rejecting City's offer last summer.

"We haven't turned it down just to keep the squad of players together, because that would go against our business model," he said.

"We've done it because we haven't had the right bid. If the money was right, then we would have sold him.

"If you get to keep a hold of your best players then that's even better.

"All clubs will sell when the offer is right".

At 22 years of age, Kounde is one of the best central defenders in Europe and will be one of the most sought-after singings of this summer.
