'Top four is on!' - Arsenal and Chelsea fans go nuts as Tottenham suffer another setback

Arsenal and Chelsea fans are delighted to see Tottenham dropping more points.

Spurs were expecting to get back to winning ways tonight following defeat to Liverpool with an away fixture with strugglers Brighton, who started the evening

But things did not go to plan for Jose Mourinho's men, losing 1-0 in the absence of Harry Kane, who is out with an ankle injury, Leandro Trossard's first-half effort proving to be the winner.

The result leaves Tottenham in sixth place and just goal difference ahead of Chelsea, albeit with a game in hand, and two ahead of Arsenal, again, with a game in hand.

While Spurs will still have the chance to put breathing room between themselves and their London rivals, both Arsenal and Chelsea now have them in their sights, particularly now that the Gunners have regained form and that Chelsea appear galvanised following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.

So, it's given both sides all the more reason to celebrate Tottenham's latest slip-up beyond the tradition of celebrating when a local rival loses.

And both fans have taken to social media to express their delight, and in the case of Chelsea, fans are looking firmly ahead to Thursday's night's clash with Spurs, who could find it difficult to recover from their poor form with Kane once again likely to be absent.

Here's what Arsenal and Chelsea fans have had to say on Twitter.

While Chelsea and Spurs have battled for position for much of this season, Arsenal closing in is very much new given Mikel Arteta's men started the season so badly.

The two North London clubs appeared to be worlds apart early in the campaign but Tottenham's patchy form coupled with Arsenal's run of seven Premier League games without defeat has them four places and two points apart as we head into the second half of the season.
