When will Cristiano Ronaldo make his second Manchester United debut?

Cristiano Ronaldo's Manchester United return on Friday was just the latest in a series of unpredictable transfers to have taken place this summer, after Lionel Messi's move to Paris Saint-Germain had previously been the standout signing of the summer market.

Now that the Portuguese has returned to Old Trafford, though, there are a number of questions that still need to be answered, such as: What shirt number will he wear? When will he make his debut? Who will he make his debut against?

When will Cristiano Ronaldo make his Manchester United debut?
Manchester United play away to Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday evening, but the Portuguese is unlikely to feature. Before leaving Juventus, he had reported an arm issue that was likely to rule him out of this weekend's Serie A action, even raising doubts about his availability for Portugal for the September international fixtures.

That makes it likely, then, that Cristiano Ronaldo will make his second Manchester United debut on September 11, when they'll face Newcastle at Old Trafford.

What shirt number will Cristiano Ronaldo wear?
Having worn the No.7 shirt in his first spell at the club, he is likely to request that same number this time. It has become synonymous with the player and his CR7 brand, with him having worn it at Real Madrid and Juventus since.

At the moment, though, Edinson Cavani wears the No.7 shirt at Manchester United and is likely to stay at the club for another year yet.

Cristiano Ronaldo wore the N.28 shirt at Sporting CP before joining Manchester United for his first spell, so he could be forced to wear a new number, much like Lionel Messi having to take the No.30 at PSG.

Currently, 12, 15, 24, 30, 31, 33, and 35 are all available at Old Trafford.
